Match Reports

Last weekend saw the lads play away at Solihull Juniors in

really warm sunshine. The defence had to be shuffled

around due to injury and unavailability, but this meant

Ollie Haddon was given his first start of the season and

he took his opportunity with both feet. Again the lads

started well trying to keep the ball on the floor on a

small pitch. Early chances fell to Freddie & Matt but the

opposition goalie dealt with most shots until

Freddie slotted home from the edge of the box after a

good move from defence through midfield to attack. A

number of attacks came from our left side with Joe Forman

and Ollie Kendall combining well. Opposition tackles

were flying, but it was from a free kick that we conceded

a soft goal as the ball was floated into our box, no

one took responsibility & the striker had a easy chance

to slot the ball in. 1-1 at half time. again not a reflection

on the play. The 2nd half started much the same, but a

rare shot from 20yds flew into our net so at 2-1 the lads

had to pile forward all subs were used in an attempt to

find the equaliser & once again Freddie obliged with a

neat headed goal. At this point some of the tackles were

becoming dangerous & there should have been more

than 1 booking: Mahad had to go off with an injury from

a tackle & Fab flew 3 foot in the air . Late on all the

Holywell pressure resulted in a penalty, after some great

fast feet in the box by Fab. Unfortunately he put the spot

kick past the post to leave the final score at 2-2.
